Blog / Autumnal twins photo shoot in Cambridgeshire
A few weeks ago I had the total joy of photographing these beautiful twins. I’d arranged to do a day of “mini sessions”, and their Mummy got in touch. She had contacted me previously about photographing their Christening, but unfortunately I was unable to do it, so I was really pleased to get this shoot booked in. The shoot day was a disaster. First of all, the location I chose turned out to be a bit of a nightmare to get permission for (I am learning all the time, and learnt alot from trying to arrange this day. Mainly, get fully organised before advertising, expect the unexpected, and be aware of who’s keeping track of what your doing and try to be one step ahead!) Then several people pulled out for reasons that couldn’t be helped. Then on the day illness struck (not me luckily, but poor little kiddies), and the rain came. So all in all, not so great! But, all was not lost! Other shoots were re-arranged, and luckily I was able to book in the twins for the following day. And what a day it was!
The sun was shining and the sky was the colour blue that only a cold autumnal day in England can produce. And the girls were just wonderful. Their little red coats could not have been more perfect for that pop of colour, and they were an absolute joy to photograph. The whole family were. And the location close to the family home was brilliant, I cant wait to go back there for a family walk one Sunday afternoon very soon.
A huge thanks to the family for getting me in to take these photos. I had a lovely time and am so happy to have been able to do this for you. I’ve since had a lovely response from the family:
“Hi! I just wanted to say a massive thank you for the photo shoot last Sunday in the lovely autumn sunshine. You made the girls feel so relaxed, and we were ecstatic when we saw the photos today- they were better than we could have imagined. One little toddler is hard enough to photograph, let alone two! You’ve captured their characters so well and we’ll treasure the photos forever. They’ll be making their way to proud Grandparents for Christmas. We loved the packaging, and all the little details. Couldn’t believe you’d even put their picture on the disc, and names on the case you sent us. We’ll be back in touch for more family portraits in the future, and maybe even a wedding if we ever get around to it!”
Always lovely to hear such nice words about my work. Makes it all feel worth while!
