Blog / Intimate and quirky Suffolk village hall wedding
Marie and Quinton had a wonderful intimate and quirky Suffolk village hall wedding. They had their lovely ceremony at the wonderful registry office in Stowmarket. Keeping things intimate, just a few guests witnessed the ceremony. Marie and Quinton arrived and walked down the aisle together. Full of smiles and laughter, sunflowers and pops of colour were the theme of the day.
After the ceremony they drove themselves to the reception venue. The wonderful village hall in the quaint village of Troston in Suffolk. A fabulous hall with great outside space. The help yourself bar was set up inside the hall, and village fete games, picnic tables and a marquee for the band were outside. Picnic blankets laid out for when the reception guests arrived on the bus that was laid on for them.
Fabulous speeches were done outside, with such a relaxed feel, full of love and fun. Games were played , good food was eaten (supplied by the wonderful Duxford Country Kitchen) and the band started playing. The stunning wedding cakes by the super talented Moo Moo Cakes were divine. One white, one chocolate, adorned with sunflowers. Both utterly delicious. The bride and groom cut the cake and dished it out to the guests. Coffee was served out the back of a little car courtesy of the fab Queen Bee Coffee. We took the opportunity of a stunning golden hour to take a wander along the road. Luckily Marie and Quinton were happy to stand in the middle of the road for me to get some lovely photos!
This was a classic example of one or the other of the couple not being too keen on doing lots of photos, but it really being worth it in the end. I’m always super aware of people not feeling pressure on their day, but if I see a great opportunity I will ask. A few moments away can create some fabulous photographs, and it is always lovely to have a few moments breather away from the crowd.
I left the wedding as the band was playing and an impromptu first dance had been had. An amazing day. Individual, quirky, relaxed and beautiful. Thanks for having me! If you’re interested in finding out about your village hall wedding photography, please do get in touch!
