Blog / Creative, quirky, stunning village hall wedding, Manuden Essex {part 1}
When your friend gets married, and asks you to be the photographer, a few things go through your mind. “Oh my goodness, what a honor, they want me to do it!!” Is one. “Oh sugar……they want me to do it…the pressure…oh the pressure!” is another. And when your friend is the award winning wedding florist Sam of Violets and Velvet, then it’s all a bit more scary. But hugely exciting and wonderful, to be a part of a great friends day and capture it for them really is the best. Oh, and to have a drink and enjoy the party too, that’s a real treat!
So Sam and Scott had a truly beautiful, relaxed, colourful party of a wedding. They married at Manuden church, in North Essex, close to their home in Bishops Stortford. Followed by a wonderful reception at the brand new Manuden village hall (though village hall seems to not come close to describing this amazing building!). Sam wore a beautiful shimmering wedding dress by Alice Temperley and an incredible leaf details hair piece by Kelly Spence. Beautiful paper lanterns in bright purples, blues and golds adorned the ceiling of the reception venue. And of course stunning flowers by Sam herself covered the tables in a variety of beautiful and eclectic jugs and vases, making the tables come to life and look utterly amazing. Golden animals had place names tied to them, continuing the quirky gold theme. At the church an amazing floral runner was along both sides of the aisle, and of course Sam had an incredible bouquet which was breath taking. The couples daughter was a wonderful flower girl and great fun throughout the day, even heckling her Dad during his speech! (She’s 5 by the way!) This wedding was so incredible, I’m blogging it in two parts (so I can fit in more images!) I hope you enjoy these photos of this incredible day. More to come in part two! R xx
