Blog / Fun tipi wedding with pizzas in Hempstead, Essex
I met Sarah and David over a year before their wedding. When they told me about their plans I knew it would be an absolute corker! And it didn’t disappoint!
Sarah got ready for the wedding at home in the village of Hempstead, Essex, surrounded by family, friends and the couples two adorable daughters. There was the cleaning of potties, kiddies running round in their pants chasing the dogs, people coming and going. A whole lot of fun and laughter. Real life, just happening on an extraordinary day. Beautiful flowers were delivered from The Flower Boutique based in Linton, Cambridgeshire. Sarah’s dress was a stunning Jenny Packam gown, with pretty shoes by Rainbow Club.
David met up with friends and family over the road from home at the local pub, and the sun shone as everyone made their way up the hill towards the church ready for the ceremony. Sarah made quite an entrance, as she and one of their daughters arrived on an amazing horse and cart. They literally flew up the road and in through the church gates, it was an amazing sight and such fun. It was a great friend of the couples who drove the horse and cart. I always think it’s so lovely to incorporate really individual, personal things into your big day, and to rope friends and family in to make the day extra special.
After the church ceremony, both Sarah and David climbed aboard the cart and were taken up to the reception venue. It was a friends field which had an incredible tipi reception set out by Magical Camping. There were long trestle tables for people to sit where they fancied. They were adorned with pretty glass jars of flowers decorated with hessian and lace. Also bottles of wine and glasses for everyone. From there the relaxed vibe continued, with amazing entertainment for the children care of Sally’s Crafty Parties. What a great idea to have crafts and games for the children, allowing the parents a little down time to catch up and maybe had a little celebratory drink or two! The wedding breakfast consisted of sharing plates of salads, and amazing pizzas from the wood fired ovens of the Proper Pizza Company.
After fabulous speeches and the cutting of the gorgeous naked wedding cake, the amazing singer started (I must get his details to share with you! he honestly was SO good!) and the partying started. People gathered around the indoor fire toasting marshmallows, listening to the fabulous music and having lots of fun.
It really was a joy to be a part of this special day. I feel I’ve left so much out, it was such a full day crammed with such lovely touches and fun elements. But I hope that the photos will show you a taster of this magical day. Thanks so much, enjoy!
