Blog / Relaxed family shoot in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk
When I get asked to re-visit families I have photographed before, I am always thrilled. My inner self-doubt takes a break for a short while, and I think Hey, I must be kida’ ok at this after all! This lovely family have just had their third shoot with me. I photographed their wedding back in 2013, then when they had their first daughter in 2015 they called me up again for another shoot. And now I’ve just been back to capture images of this lovely family again, with the addition of their second daughter.
We did a mini session, at their home in Bury St Edmunds. People often say to me that they couldn’t have a shoot at home, there’s work being done, or it’s not tidy enough, or it’s not pretty enough. But the reality is that it’s your home. Ok, it may not be the Ideal Homes magazine “ideal” or what you hope it to be one day, but if you have the children’s toys, some furniture (or no furniture is fine too!), some window light and some cheeky monkeys, we can catch some lovely moments. Because, as I always say, it’s the moments that matter. That’s what I’m looking for. Not a pristine lounge with coordinated scatter cushions, just your home, and your family, interacting and being you.
I’m looking to open the diary for summer shoots soon, some full sessions will be available, as well as a selection of mini sessions. If you’re interested in having some relaxed family photographs taken, then please do get in touch to book in.
