Blog / Weddings 2016 {part one}

So 2016 is tumbling towards it’s climax, the end is nigh!  It’s been a funny (not so funny) old year in many ways with regards to of the world we live in.  But you don’t need me to tell you that.  For me personally, it’s been rather lovely in terms of the clients I’ve had and the work that I’ve done.  I’ve photographed some beautiful weddings with such fabulous couples.  This has resulted in really feeling that my wedding photography style is constantly evolving and growing, and I believe that as the years go on, I get clients who get me and what I’m about. In turn they are the sort of people who’s weddings I adore.  Relaxed, fun, intimate, wild, honest, romantic, quirky weddings.  Full of joy and love.  That’s all you need, honestly it is.

I’ve enjoyed shooting much more freely this year.  I have found a natural rhythm that seems to fit me well.  I love capturing the honest natural moments at weddings, and I think I’ve got some special moments for my lovely couples this year.

This year I’ve photographed two elopements, one in London at Ealing Town Hall, and one at The Atheneum in Bury St Edmunds.  I flippin’ loved these.  How special to be the only other person at such an intimate, special day.  A real honor.  I’ve also shot wonderful weddings at Quy Mill in Cambridge, marquees and tipi’s in family gardens in Saffron Walden and Bury St Edmunds and in a pub garden in deepest darkest Suffolk.   Others were at Le Talbooth in Colchester, The Garden Barn in Suffolk, and the amazing Eltham Palace in South East London.

Lots of venues that I’ve shot at before such as The Red Lion in Whittlesford and Shire Hall in Cambridge, plus fabulous new venues for me such as the marvelous Moreves Barn in Suffolk, Childerley in Cambridge, White Dove Barn in Suffolk and The Swan in Lavenham.  Phew!  What amazing places.  What amazing days.

I hope you enjoy this little roundup.  As a result of me being utterly unable to edit it down any more, I’m doing it in two parts.  My photos may be sad if they aren’t chosen!

Here’s to what has been a fabulous working year.  It always is a lot of work, a lot of behind the scenes, a lot of evenings on the computer, a lot of emails, a lot of driving.  But what a wonderful way to make a living.  Finally, I really am truly honored asever to be trusted with this job.  Thanks guys.

Thanks guys.  Big love x
