Blog / A Cambridge Union Society wedding with an Indian twist
Gill and Aneesh had a wonderful winter wedding at the Cambridge Union Society, right in the heart of the city. I love this venue, and every time I’ve been asked to do wedding photography here I’ve had an amazing time. I love to shoot at alternative and quirky venues throughout Cambridgeshire and Suffolk, and this is up there as one of the best, with it’s amazing history, fabulous library, grand dining room and of course the magnificent debating chamber. It always feels a privilege to be in there. There was a lovely mix of two families coming together at this Cambridge wedding, with British and Indian cultures being represented throughout from Christmas crackers for the best man’s speech right through to traditional Indian dancers who entertained the guests. Beautiful flowers created by Larkspur Floral Design adorned the pretty table decorations, with intricate lace details and vintage books. Retro and vintage toys were set out for the children to play with, and a fun table cloth for the kids to draw on while they ate was a such a great idea! The couple danced their way from the main hall all the way to the evening reception room in a fabulous procession, full of smiles and laughter all the way. It was such a great day, thank you so much for having me with you on such a special, beautiful day.
