Blog / Rustic outdoor Bury St Edmunds Farm wedding photography
I’ve been really looking forward to sharing Ben and Bex’s amazing day with you. As happens occasionally, I hadn’t met the couple before the big day. But I knew it would be a fantastically relaxed, rustic wedding day full of fun details. And it really was.
The weather was not kind to say the least. Ben and friends were at the couples farm, getting the barn and marquee ready, plus the beautiful outdoor ceremony area. But the heavens opened. Torrential doesn’t really do it justice! All the while, Bex had a calm vibe and rode out the storm!
Arriving at the beautiful farm that Bex and Ben use for produce for their restaurant in Bury St Edmunds (Ben’s), the rain ended just in time. Thankfully the outdoor ceremony could still go ahead, the hay bales were brushed off and everyone got ready. The couple had done the official bit a few day’s earlier, therefor they had their friend take the ceremony at the farm. A lovely touch which made it all feel more personal and special. The music kicked in and the bridesmaids and grooms men danced down the aisle! Such great fun and the guests loved it!
After the lovely ceremony, guests chatted an mingled at the out door bar area. The sun came out, blue skies appeared and all was well! The wedding breakfast of afternoon tea took place in the barn, decorated beautifully with pastel pom poms and quirky touches. The whole farm was covered in bunting and beautiful flowers grown by the brides Mum. So much detail and so much to look at all the time. There was a camping area for guests to stay over, and a hog roast for the evening food. A marquee for the dancing and band, plus a poly tunnel was a wonderfully quirky way to set up a backdrop for selfies, with more pastel pop pops to make amazingly colourful photos.
We had such luck with the weather, and were able to get some stunning golden hour photos, with the couple plus their beloved dog too. The Suffolk countryside looked incredible, the day really did turn out spectacularly.
Thanks for taking the time to look at this lovely rustic Suffolk wedding. Hope you like it! There is a slideshow too if you fancy taking a look.
